• This page contains images of mayflies and other trout food that have been gathered from the streams in Southeast Minnesota

• Its well known that the same species in different areas will have marked differences in wing and body colors

• This site will attempt to document species in the SE Minnesota area to serve as model for tying fly imitations

• As hatches occur throughout the year, additional species will be added. The eventual goal is quality images of nymph and adult species of mayflies, caddisflies, stoneflies, midges, scuds and terrestrials with links to patterns! If you have a local pattern you'd like to list, please send it along.

• I am not an entomologist. This is a very complicated field and am learning as I go. Many are 'no-brainers'. In some instances, however, I am not able to accurately identify the fly. If you can help, please drop me a line! Especially with the Unknowns below
